FRANKLIN COUNTY — A 29-year-old former Benton Consolidated High School employee is facing a felony charge of soliciting a minor.

Jeremy J. Jackson was the high school Computer/Network Specialist and Webmaster before resigning his position in a letter at a July 19 school board meeting.

A complaint was filed against Jackson on Aug. 6 and a $20,000 warrant was issued for his arrest that same day, charging him with felony solicitation from a person who is under the age of 18 or who is a person with a severe or profound intellectual disability.

Jackson was taken into custody on Aug. 7. He posted $2,000 bond and was released.

Probable cause to pursue prosecution was found in court last week during a preliminary hearing when evidence was presented.

Jackson is next scheduled to appear in court Nov. 8 for a pre-trial hearing.
