JEFFERSON COUNTY — With current Jefferson County Sheriff Travis Allen running for the country treasurer position, the county will have a new sheriff after November’s elections. One of the candidates hoping to fill that role is Jeff Bullard, who currently serves as the Detective Captain at the Mt. Vernon Police Department.

Bullard says with the limited resources available at the sheriff’s department, the best way to improve their services is through better communication.

Bullard started his 27-year law enforcement career with the sheriff’s office before moving over to the Mt. Vernon Police Department.
