ILLINOIS (CMS) — Hunters and landowners are urged to report suspected cases of EHD in white tailed deer to the Illinois department of natural resources.
EHDstands for Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease and can cause localized die-offs. Infected animals develop a high fever says DNR spokesperson Ed Cross.
Cross says anyone who spots a suspected case is asked to email Doug Dufford at: email@example.com.
EHD can affect livestock but is not hazardous to humans or pets.
