MARION — The Marion Police Department Narcotics Unit cited a man Monday on drug charges after receiving a complaint last week that drug sales were taking place in a specific apartment at the Motel Marion on West Main Street.

Police say the target of the investigation was 35-year-old Carl W. Boyce. A narcotics unit detective acting in an undercover capacity later met with Boyce at the Motel Marion and conducted a controlled drug purchase of cannabis.

A search warrant to search the apartment was obtained and executed Monday. During a search of the apartment, detectives located crystal “ice” methamphetamine, cannabis, prescription medication, packaging materials and weighing equipment.

Boyce was issued citations for delivery of cannabis, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of cannabis with the intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Boyce was taken to the Williamson County Jail awaiting his first appearance in court.
