MARION — A Marion man was arrested on drug charges Wednesday after the Marion Police Department Narcotics Unit found illegal drugs and other drug paraphernalia following a search of his home on East Reeves Street.

Police say their investigation began on Aug. 27 and identified 35-year-old Justin M. Opell as a supplier of methamphetamine. A confidential source was used several times to buy meth from Opell at his home in the 400 block of East Reeves Street.

A search warrant was later carried out at Opell’s home where detectives found crystal “ice” methamphetamine, cannabis production equipment, prescription medication, cannabis, packaging material, weighing equipment and drug paraphernalia.

Opell was arrested Wednesday and issued citations for delivery of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Opell was taken to the Williamson County Jail awaiting his first appearance.
