BENTON — The Franklin County Board Tuesday night voted 9-0 for a resolution to dispose of the old County Annex building on West Main in Benton.

The building has sat empty since April 2017 when County Annex offices move to the renovated Campbell Building on the Benton Square.

County Board Chairman Randall Crocker says the resolution has some guidelines to follow. Those interested in the property will have to submit a proposal, explain their plans for the building and how much they are willing to pay for it.

Crocker says there has been some interest in trying to save the building. He says it is structurally sound and the roof is five or six years old.
