CENTRALIA — Centralia police continue to investigate a shots fired call last week that sent a 41-year-old Centralia man to SSM St. Health St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to his foot.

According to reports, officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 300 block of Leafland, where a man was apparently shot.

The investigation has shown the man was shot by a person allegedly involved in an earlier disturbance in the area.

A male subject who had allegedly been involved in the initial disturbance and fled the area was arrested for obstructing identification.

However, the Marion County State’s Attorney’s Office released the man pending further investigation.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact the Centralia Police Department at 533-7602.
