CENTRALIA — A 22-year-old Centralia man is in the Marion County Jail following his arrest Tuesday on multiple drug charges.

Harrion Hawkins was arrested Tuesday night during a traffic stop by Centralia police in the 200 block of North Locust.

According to police reports, Hawkins was a passenger in a vehicle where a police K-9 unit was called to the traffic stop and reportedly alerted on the car.

A search of a backpack in the vehicle reportedly revealed two separate packages of a substance that field tested positive as methamphetamine that had a combined weight of 36.49 grams, two other packages in the backpack reportedly held a combined weight of 4.84 grams of a substance that field tested positive as heroin.

Officers also reportedly located scales, baggies, and approximately $600 cash in the backpack that allegedly belonged to Hawkins.

Hawkins was taken to the Marion County Jail and the driver of the vehicle was released without charge.

He was formally charged in court Wednesday with Class X felony delivery of between 15 and 100 grams of meth, two Class 1 felonies for delivery of between 1 and 15 grams of heroin, and possession of between 15 and 100 grams of meth, and Class 4 felony possession of a controlled substance.

Hawkins is already facing multiple felony cases in Marion County, with two 2017 cases scheduled for sentencing later this month for battery to a peace officer and possession of a controlled substance.

He’s also facing felony charges from earlier this year for possession of a controlled substance, possession of a stolen firearm and in both cases being a felon in possession of a firearm, in a separate case he’s charged with aggravated domestic battery and domestic battery with a prior conviction.

Bail in the most recent case remains to bet set.
