SOUTHERN ILLINOIS — The Southern Illinois Film Commission is working to bring more film and television productions to the region.

According to WSIL-TV, a Horror Film called “I Don’t Believe in Ghosts” is about to start production in October.

The movie will film in Southern Illinois locations including Johnston City, West Frankfort, and Galatia.

The film is written, produced, and directed by William Mitchem, and is reportedly based on real events.

According to promotional items, on the 20th anniversary of the discovery of a gruesome and bloody murder scene, four friends take a trip deep into the backwoods of Southern Illinois.

Along their journey, the group discovers a book of local urban legends. They decide to extend their trip and play a few games and that’s when things get scary.
