WAMAC — A 30-year-old Wamac man wanted for failure to appear on a felony domestic battery case was reportedly arrested by Wamac police who found him hiding in his home with a stolen firearm nearby.

Police were initially searching for Michael Lutz at his Wamac home to arrest him on the warrant. A search of the home reportedly revealed Lutz hiding in a room of the home, with a gun nearby that he had allegedly stolen along with an ATV in Washington County.

He had earlier been charged in Washington County for possession of the stolen ATV, but the gun could not be located at the time.

Lutz also faces a new arrest for resisting or obstructing police for allegedly hiding.

He was taken to the Marion County Jail pending a first appearance in court. The bond on the outstanding warrant is set at $15,000.
