The Christopher Police Department has received reports recently of citizens finding $100 bills in public places.

Over the weekend, someone found two of these bills and attempted to make a purchase in a local business using one of them. In all cases, the currency in question has turned out to be prop money used in the production of movies.

Police believe these props have been placed out as a malicious prank due to the distance between discoveries. Police say it is a violation of federal law to knowingly use any type of counterfeit currency in place of legal tender.

If you should happen to locate one of these bills, you should destroy and discard it or turn it in to the Christopher Police Department.
