IL Department of Public Health confirms second case of measles at Chicago O’Hare

The Illinois Department of Public Health is confirming a second case of measles at Chicago’s O’Hare airport.

The latest instance is not related to the case reported last week at O’Hare. Public Health Spokesperson Melaney Arnold says the patients were already infected before passing through the airport, and this is not considered an outbreak.

Those who may have come in contact with the patient could develop symptoms as late as February first. They include a rash, high fever cough and runny nose says Arnold.

The person visited emergency departments in evanston, skokie and park ridge last week.
