A McLeansboro man was recently sentenced to six-and-a-half years in state prison for residential burglary – a Class 1 felony.

Hamilton County State’s Attorney Justin Hood says 19-year-old Justin D. Karnes will also serve two years of mandatory supervised release after he is released from prison.

Hood says Karnes admitted to breaking into a home at 108 N. Epperson Dr. in McLeansboro on Sept. 25 of last year taking a Sony laptop, a tablet, credit card and a X-Box gaming system and games.

The case was handled by the McLeansboro Police Department. He is currently in White County Jail.
