Woman steals from former Centralia employer; sentenced to 4-years probation

A 41-year-old Centralia woman was sentenced Wednesday in Marion County Court to four-years probation after she admitted to stealing from her former employer.

Melissa Allen was ordered to pay nearly $250,000 in restitution to her former employer George Proksha, owner of Superior Windows in Centralia. Allen agreed to pay Proksha $100 per month toward that debt

According to the prosecution, around 2011 Allen began writing company checks out to “cash” and recorded them as business expenses.

In 2014 the discrepancies started to appear and in 2017 Allen was charged with Class 2 felony theft between $10,000 and $100,000.
