According to police reports, two subjects, 18-year-old Sydney Pecora, and a 17-year-old juvenile, were taken into custody on charges of robbery, mob action, and aggravated battery.

Pecora is being held in the Jefferson County Jail awaiting the formal filing of charges and the setting of bail. The 17-year-old juvenile has been detained in the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Facility pending a court appearance in Jefferson County.

The arrests came shortly after police responded to a report around 10:33 of an armed robbery in the 1600 block of Pace.

Upon their arrival, officers made contact with the driver of a taxi cab who reported he had been robbed by two subjects and the subjects fled the area on foot.

The taxi driver was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the robbery.

The officers began to dispatch suspect information to other officers in the area which led to the suspects being located at Spero Family Services on Richview Road, and taken into custody. Mt Vernon Police Detectives were notified and responded to assist with the investigation.
