Peggy Ann Hayes, 80, of Salem, and Formerly of Dix, passed away at 6:54 p.m. Saturday, December 30, 2017, at Salem Township Hospital.
She was born December 29, 1937, in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Earl and Elsa (Boldrey) Morlan.  On December 13, 1955, in Harrisburg, she married Glen Arthur Hayes, and he preceded her in death on March 22, 2009.

She was a member of Antioch Christian Church, and was a past Vice President of Jefferson County Right To Life.  She enjoyed gardening, and was an excellent cook and housekeeper.  She loved her kids and family.

Mrs. Hayes is survived by three sons, Glen Hayes of San Antonio, Texas, Earl Hayes and wife Linda of Dix, and John Hayes and wife Amanda of Bloomfield, New Mexico;  two daughters, Laura Bennett and husband Ernest of Farmington, New Mexico, and Elizabeth Martinez and husband Gilbert of Grants, New Mexico;  fourteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren;  and siblings, Carolyn Sledge of Mt. Vernon, Brenda Stewart of Mt. Vernon, Robert Morlan and wife Jann of Arizona, Ed Morlan and wife Lesa of Mt. Vernon, David Morlan and wife Marilyn of Salem, Richard Morlan and wife Karen of Bourbonnais, IL, Sheila Burgess and husband Stan of Salem, and Toni Crowder and husband Mario of Mt. Vernon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Brian Cole; and one sister, Judith K. Chrum.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded, and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jordan Chapel Cemetery, and will be accepted by mail to the Osborn Funeral Home, P.O.
