A preliminary autopsy reported released Tuesday by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office reports that Perry County Deputy Sheriff Joshua Harsy died from a single gunshot wound and foul play is not suspected in his death.

The sheriff’s office got a call around 2:50 a.m. Sunday regarding a domestic disturbance at a rural Jackson County home. When deputies arrived, they found the 33-year-old Harsy’s body. He was off duty at the time of the incident.

The case is pending review by the Jackson County State’s Attorneys’ Office. The Jackson County Coroner and Jackson County Ambulance Service assisted with the call.
