Rauner Signs New Law Cutting Fees for LLCs

The Governor has often said the state isn’t a competitive place to launch a small business. So he’s happy to sign a new law that drops the fee for filing paperwork to become an L-L-C. The fee used to be $500 and now it falls to $150, at the previous level it was the highest L-L-C filing fee in the nation.

Previously, Illinois had some of the highest fees in the nation for starting a new company but this law significantly lowers the cost says bill sponsor Representative Carol Sente of Buffalo Grove.

Other filing fees are being cut. They range from annual report fees to name transfer fees.
