Based on historical data, the state’s climatologist, Jim Angel, lays out our chances for a white Christmas in Illinois. He says the likelihood of that happening depends on where you live.

Angel says this year isn’t looking good. December has been pretty dry so far and there aren’t any big snowfall predictions in the long-term forecast.

To officially be considered a white Christmas there must be at least an inch of snow on the ground.
