Marion Police are investigating a report of shots fired in the 300 block of South Second Street that allegedly happened just after 11 Sunday night.

After getting several reports from callers saying gun shots could be heard in the area, officers responded and spoke to some of the residents and callers who described hearing five gunshots. Officers were not able to find any victims, suspects or specific location of where the gunshots took place at the time of the initial call.

One of the original callers – an elderly woman – on Monday found a projectile in the living room of her home and a bullet hole through the exterior wall. Officers went to the home where they found and collected bullet casings from outside of the home and one projectile from inside the home. At this time, there is no indication she was an intended victim.

Anyone with information regarding this incident or who may be responsible should contact Marion Police.
