Marion County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 29-year-old Centralia man Friday on charges of alleged battery and disorderly conduct after he allegedly punched the driver of a car involved in a car/deer crash.

According to reports, Joshua Rusher punched the 22-year-old driver of the vehicle, Logan Mueller of Irvington Road in Centralia, in the jaw, knocked him to the ground then repeatedly pushed him down.

The driver reportedly struck the deer around 10 p.m. Friday in the 2900 block of State Route 161 in Centralia. Rusher wasn’t a passenger in the vehicle, but his girlfriend apparently was.

One of the two passengers in the vehicle, 26-year-old Megan Shreve of Centralia, was taken to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment, while the driver and the other passenger were not injured.
