Mass shootings have occurred across America but programs designed to combat an active shooter regardless if you are carrying a weapon or not, are also across the country.

Chief Deputy Clint Taylor with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was a guest on the Southern Illinois Insider program on WMIX and is a part of an organization that’s name, is a great reminder of what to do in an active shooter situation.

Anyone from an average citizen to an officer of the law has a duty to act in these stressful situations says Chief Deputy Taylor.

You can listen to the Southern Illinois Insider program every Sunday at 11am on WMIX 94.1/96.5FM and AM940.
