A Franklin County resident was recently awarded the state’s highest 4-H award.

Rachel Miller was among 19 other 4-H members across the state who were honored for their lifetime4-H achievements.

The Illinois State 4-H Award recognizes exemplary work in five major areas – communications, community service, leadership, personal growth and project mastery.

Miller was awarded $1,000 in the area of leadership. She also received a Legacy of Leadership Scholarship and the Experience Award. Her winnings added up to $2,000 in scholarship.
