Centralia police arrested a 28-year-old Central City man over the weekend for allegedly forcing a female acquaintance into a vacant home and sexually assaulting her.

According to reports, Robert Linder was arrested Friday for alleged criminal sexual assault and unlawful restraint.

Linder was reportedly at a home on North Cherry Friday when he reportedly forced the female into a vacant home next door and forced her commit sex acts with him.

The female was able to escape and returned to the North Cherry home where a family member called police.

Officers located Linder in the area and took him into custody. He was transported to the Marion County Jail to await the formal filing of charges and the setting of bail.
