Marion Man Identified as Cocaine Distributor

A Marion man is facing several charges after the Marion Police Department Narcotics Unit identified him at a cocaine distributor following a narcotics investigation.

Police carried out a search warrant at noon Thursday at America’s Best Value Inn on Bittle Place where 26-year-old Josten Denwood was taken into custody. He is currently on parole with the Illinois Department of Corrections.

During the execution of the search warrant, Denwood resisted arrest and battered police officers  causing visible injuries to the officers.  Denwood was found to be in possession of one semi-automatic firearm, ammunition, cocaine, cannabis, packaging equipment, weighing equipment, and counterfeit United States currency.

Denwood was issued citations for felon in possession of a firearm, illegal possession of ammunition by a felon, possession of cocaine with the intent to deliver, three counts of aggravated battery to a police officer, possession of counterfeit currency and possession of cannabis.

Denwood was conveyed to the Williamson County Jail awaiting future court proceedings.
