A 23-year-old Marion County Jail inmate is facing a new charge of disorderly conduct for allegedly filing a false complaint with a federal hotline claiming he was sexually assaulted.

Dustin Minor-Fields, of Nokomis, reportedly claimed that on October 26 while his cell was being searched he was inappropriately touched by a correctional officer.

An investigation was conducted after the hotline was called. After viewing surveillance video of the cell being searched investigators found that the officer was not even near Minor-Fields.

The new charge resulted in his bail being increased by $10,000. He’s scheduled for a November 16 preliminary hearing on the new felony charge.

He was already being held with bail set at $7,500 on a theft charge and on a warrant stemming from a criminal damage charge.
