Chris Young’s seventh album, Losing Sleep, debuts this week at Number One on Billboard’s Top Country Albums Chart. This is his second consecutive studio album to debut at the top of Billboard’s Country Albums Chart. With 39,000 equivalent album units in its first week, Losing Sleep also opens at Number Five on the Billboard 200 all-genre chart.
Chris said, “I’m excited to have Losing Sleep debut at #1! While I co-produced my last two albums, this is the first record where I co-wrote every song. It’s been amazing to have such a great response to the new music, and I’m looking forward to playing it live on tour starting in January.”
Chris tells us that part of the secret to his success is his partnership with co-producer Corey Crowder.
“I don’t think really that I feel any different from record to record about the passion for making music. I do think there is something that’s really cool that’s happened with producing my stuff with Corey Crowder. It’s an incredible feeling to lock in with someone, and especially when it’s me in that producer chair as well, but to be able to have that relationship with Corey, where we really see eye to eye, and have a vision from the very beginning with where we want to end up with a record, I think there is something to be said about that making it really special, and trying to make the record the right way and enjoy it, and have fun with it, but also put a lot of effort, and a lot of time, and a lot of blood, sweat and tears into it.”
