A Carbondale man was sentenced for burglary in Jackson County Circuit Court Tuesday.

Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds, acting as special prosecutor in Jackson County, says 20-year-old Dayshawn Michael Holmes will spend the next three years in prison on one count of burglary – a Class 2 felony. Holmes will also serve a two year period of mandatory supervised release.

Holmes was arrested in July of this year following an investigation by Carbondale Police. He burglarized a vehicle in the 800 block of West Main Street in Carbondale.
