Bail has been set at $300,000 for a 33-year-old Vandalia woman facing multiple drug-related charges along with charges of attempted escape.

Crystal D. Anderson was wanted on a warrant charging her with two counts Class 2 felony delivery of less than 5-grams of methamphetamine, and two Class 3 felony counts of possession of less than 5-grams of meth. The warrant set bail at $100,000.

Just before midnight Thursday a Farina officer located Anderson walking in the 500 block of West Washington in Farina. She was asked if she had any drugs or weapons on her, was handcuffed and placed in the back of the officer’s squad car.

However, according to Fayette County State’s Attorney Josh Morrison, she slipped from her handcuffs twice while riding in the back of the squad car resulting in two new Class 3 felony charges of attempted escape.

She was eventually taken to the Fayette County Jail where she was reportedly found in possession of cannabis, bath salts, and individual packages of meth.

Anderson was additionally charged Friday with Class 1 felony possession of a controlled substance into a penal institution, Class 2 felony delivery of less than 5-grams of methamphetamine, two Class 3 counts bringing cannabis into a penal institution, and Class 3 possession of less than 5-grams of meth. Bail was set at $200,000 separate from the $100,000 set in the original case.

Anderson is next due in court Tuesday for a preliminary hearing.
