Two late-night wrecks in Williamson County have forced IDOT and the Illinois State Police to close Interstate 57, North bound at mile post 45 and IL Route 148 exit. Clean-up crews are currently on scene. More details to follow as they become available to WMIX News.

—A single vehicle property damage crash occurred at 11:35pm Sunday night on Interstate 57 at mile post 51 in Williamson County

Preliminary reports say 56 year old, James R. Shelton of Lynnville, Tennessee was north bound through a construction zone on I-57 when, Shelton believes, a mechanical issue with the trailer he was pulling started to veer to the right.

The 2014 International then exited the roadway to the right and struck a tree with its right front corner. No charges have been filed against Shelton, however, the investigation is currently ongoing at this time.

-A single vehicle personal injury crash occurred at 2:12am Monday morning on Interstate 57 at mile post 49 in Williamson County.

46 year old, Andrea R. Williams is reported to have been heading north bound on I-57 going through a construction zone when she exited the roadway to the right and the 2014 Kenworth tractor-trailer Williams was driving overturned onto its right side. Williams was trapped and had to be extricated by Lake of Egypt Fire Department. She was transported via ambulance to a local hospital for very minor injuries.

Williams was cited for Improper Lane Usage.
