A 27-year-old Vandalia man is in the Clinton County Jail on multiple charges following his overnight arrest stemming from a traffic stop.

Barrett Pelts was taken into custody and had been on an investigative hold until this morning when he was booked on charges of driving under the influence, manufacture with the intent to deliver between 10 and 30 grams of methamphetamine, manufacture with the intent to deliver cannabis, manufacture with the intent to deliver controlled substances, obstructing identification, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance.

Pelts was also arrested on an outstanding Fayette County warrant. Bail on the warrant was set at $45,000.

A passenger in Pelts’ vehicle, 31-year-old Ryan Smith, is being held on charges of manufacture with the intent to deliver between 10 and 30 grams of methamphetamine, manufacture with the intent to deliver cannabis, manufacture with the intent to deliver controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance.
