Incumbency has put a target on the backs of many politicians across the United States but especially on Illinois Republicans. Mike Bost, the representative for the 12th Congressional District, has a new challenger for his seat in Preston Nelson.

Nelson spoke with WMIX News on deciding to challenge for the seat and says the majority of what he wants to change has to do with the financials of Illinois.

At the age of 27, Nelson sees his age as an advantage to potentially getting elected.

Nelson says the campaign is in a good place for him thus far before the March 2018 Primary.
