The Benton City Council Monday night approved a bid of $86,390 from Wiggs Excavating of Benton for the airport sewer extension project.

According to City Clerk Brook Craig, the city will extend its sewer main north for future development in the airport area.
The other bid for the project came from KPS Incorporated of Marion. It was for $122,912.

The council also approved beginning talks with Arizona-based Cypress Creek Solar about installing solar panels on city owned property. It’s not known at this time which properties will be chosen for the project.

And trick-or-treating will take place in Benton on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 4 to 8 p.m.
