Ivan William “Bill” Rightnowar, 88, of Woodlawn passed away Thursday morning, September 28, 2017 at his home.

He was born in Jefferson County, IL on October 27, 1928, the son of Adam & Minnie (Fairchild) Rightnowar.

He married Norma (Morgan) on December 24, 1948, and she died on April 29, 2014.

Mr. Rightnowar was a Navy Veteran, and a member of the West Long Prairie Christian Church, a member of the Waltonville VFW and the Mt. Vernon American Legion. He was a welder, plumber & pipefitter.

Mr. Rightnowar was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, by a Sister: Myreta Barton & husband Cyril, by 2 Brothers: Merle Rightnowar & wife Faye & by Orval “Dude” Rightnowar & wife Idabell, and by a brother-in-law: Charles Brown.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the Jefferson County Humane Society in Mr. Rightnowar’s memory.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 30th at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Minister Ethan Shurtz officiating. Military Rites will be conducted. There will be No Visitation, those attending the service are requested to meet at the cemetery.

The Johnston Funeral Home in Ina is in charge of arrangements.
