JEFFERSON COUNTY — Earlier this week, officers from the Mt Vernon Police Department and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department investigated the theft of four-wheelers in the area.

On Tuesday, members of Mt Vernon Police Department/Jefferson County High Risk Team arrested a 16-year-old juvenile at a home in the 2300 block of Wescott, on a Jefferson County Probation Violation warrant. At that time law enforcement recovered two four wheelers that had been stolen from Mt Vernon and Jefferson County.

Then on Wednesday, members of the Mt Vernon Police Department and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department checked a residence in the 2300 block of Wescott where two additional juveniles who are involved with the investigation were located.

Another 16-year-old juvenile was taken into custody at that time on a Jefferson County warrant charging possession of a stolen vehicle and domestic battery.

The second juvenile at that location, also 16-years-old was arrested on a Jefferson County warrant for Theft.

All three juveniles were transported to the Franklin County Detention Facility where they remain pending a court date in Jefferson County.
