Denzal Haynes is already serving a 21 year sentence in the Illinois Department of Corrections on an armed robbery conviction out of Jefferson County.

The two terms will run concurrent and he will have to serve 3-years mandatory supervised release at the end of his prison sentence.

Haynes pleaded guilty last year in Jefferson County Court to one of six Class X felony charges of armed robbery against him.

He and two other men – Steven Collier and Thomas Rector – were charged and convicted in Jefferson County for the armed robbery of Jumpin’ Jimmy’s, and other Mt. Vernon businesses.

Haynes and Collier were both charged in Marion County Court in connection to the robbery of Blue Goose Liquor; however, charges against Collier were dropped.
