SOUTHERN ILLINOIS — Police in Carbondale and Herrin are coming together in a joint investigation effort regarding the recent armed robberies that have taken place in both cities.

Police are currently investigating seven robberies that happened from July 27 through Sept. 16:

07-27-2017 at 9:00 p.m., robbery at Dollar General, 2160 Ramada Ln., Carbondale
08-09-2017 at 11:50 p.m., robbery at Primo’s Pizza, 604 E. Park St., Carbondale
08-16-2017 at 9:50 p.m., robbery at Dollar General, 1121 S. Park St., Herrin
08-21-2017 at 10:57 p.m., robbery at Egyptian Corner, 534 E. Main, Carbondale
09-05-2017 at 10:00 p.m., robbery at Roll N Up, 600 E. Main St., Carbondale
09-09-2017 at 12:25 a.m., robbery at Primo’s Pizza, 604 E. Park St., Carbondale
09-16-2017 at 9:56 p.m., robbery at Farm Fresh, 1301 E. Park St., Herrin

Police say the suspects in each robbery have been two black men wearing masks and armed with handguns.

One of the suspects is described as between 6′ and 6’4″ tall, weighing around 220 pounds. The other man is described as slightly shorter with an athletic or thin build. The suspects are to be considered armed and dangerous. You should not approach them.
