Benton hopes to break ground on new sewer line

BENTON — Benton city leaders are hoping to break ground on a new sewer project near the Benton Municipal Airport next month after it was announced at Monday’s City Council meeting that the EPA recently approved a permit for the project.

A new sewer line will be installed near Blue Ridge Tractor Company. The cost will be around $135,000.

The new sewer line will connect to the interceptor line the city put in two to three years ago. It will connect to the new sewer plant currently under construction on Petroff Road.

Bids for the project should be returned to the city by Oct. 6.
