MT. VERNON — A 29-year-old Mt. Vernon Man is facing a felony charge for leaving the scene of an accident involving a personal injury.

The charge is a class 4 felony with a punishment of up to 3 years in prison. Court reports indicate that Daron A. Bradford is accused of leaving the scene of an accident where an Illinois State Police Trooper suffered injuries.

According to police reports, Bradford was allegedly involved in a Monday accident at Wells Bypass and Veterans Memorial Drive in Mt. Vernon. The trooper suffered a back injury as well as bruises and abrasions.

Bradford is currently being held at the Jefferson County Justice Center with bond set at $20,000.
