MT. VERNON — A Bluford man facing a felony charge related to bath salts has pleaded guilty and been sentenced to four years in prison.

59-year-old Marty Lewis entered the plea in Jefferson County Court on Tuesday. His admission serves as guilt for possessing with intent to deliver 50 to 200 grams of a substance containing α-Pyrrolidinopentiophenone (also known as Alpha-PVP or a-PVP) on June 30.

Lewis’s health was reportedly a factor in the plea agreement. Lewis suffers from respiratory issues. He had originally faced Class X Felony possession with intent to deliver and controlled substance trafficking. The trafficking charge was dismissed with the possession charge dropped to a class 1 per the plea agreement.

Lewis will pay court costs and a $2,000 drug assessment fee. Lewis can cut the term by up to half with good behavior followed by two years of supervised release.
