ZEIGLER — Approximately one dozen federal agents served warrants in Zeigler Thursday morning. Reports indicate that the FBI visited both city hall and the residence of city treasurer Ryan Thorpe.

Agents seized firearms and vehicles in the search. City workers were reportedly told to leave city hall at around 8:30 a.m. leaving the building closed.

A statement from the city attorney reports that the City of Zeigler is fully cooperating with the FBI and that the treasurer has been placed on administrative leave. There was an emergency council meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday evening.
