SALEM — A 37-year-old Centralia man was arrested over the weekend by Salem police after he was allegedly found in possession of multiple substances including psychedelic mushrooms.

Jason Coleman was arrested Friday afternoon after the police K-9 alerted on his vehicle during a traffic stop on South Broadway.

A subsequent search reportedly revealed drugs and officers allegedly found 56 grams of cannabis, psychedelic mushrooms, and prescription medication in Coleman’s truck.

He was arrested for alleged possession of between 30 and 500 grams of cannabis, two counts possession of a controlled substance.

Coleman was initially reportedly stopped due to having an unrestrained passenger riding in the bed of his truck.

He was taken to the Marion County Jail where he awaits the formal filing of charges and the setting of bail.
