(CARBONDALE, IL) — Two Carbondale men were arrested on gun and other charges Thursday in Carbondale. Carbondale Police say shortly after 5 p.m., an officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle on South Giant City Road. The vehicle fled from the officer and turned onto Neal Lane where it continued fleeing.  As the vehicle reached the 1500 block of Neal Lane, it entered a residential yard and the driver fled on foot, while the other occupants remained inside the vehicle. Additional Carbondale police officers responded, along with a Carbondale Police K9 Unit, who tracked and located the suspect several hundred yards from the scene.The suspect, 20-year-old Rashaan Graham, who was attempting to hide from officers, surrendered as the K9 Unit approached him and he was arrested without further incident. Graham was wanted on two Jackson County arrest warrants. The first warrant was for a charge of aggravated battery with a $20,000 bond and the second warrant was for unlawful use of weapons by a felon with a $200,000 bond. The unlawful use of weapons by a felon warrant stems from the June 10, 2017, shooting in the 400 block of North Robert A. Stalls. A second occupant of the vehicle, 25-year-old Jody Pullen, Jr., was also arrested. Both Graham and Pullen, Jr. were also charged with unlawful use of weapons by a felon as two handguns were seized during this incident. Additional charges against the pair were also filed for possession of cannabis as were other traffic and resisting arrest offenses against Graham. Both were transported to the Jackson County Jail. An Illinois State Police K9 unit assisted with this arrest. The investigation into this incident is continuing.
