(Cairo, IL)  —  Illinois’ junior senator is the latest to ask Cairo’s public utility for financial information. But “The Southern Illinoisan” reported yesterday that officials with the Cairo Public Utility Company still refuse to release their financial information. In addition to Senator Tammy Duckworth, Illinois’ attorney general has also asked for the information. Folks in Cairo say they’re paying for too much for electricity. They’re suspicious about the secrecy at the utility.
