(MT. VERNON, IL) — A Texico man, who was initially arrested in May for charges of aggravated domestic battery, aggravated criminal sexual assault and unlawful restraint, pleaded guilty to an open plea of felony aggravated domestic battery in favor of the other charges being dropped. On Wednesday, 42 year old Ronnie R. Starr pleaded guilty to intentionally strangling a woman. The charge is punishable by three to seven years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. Starr will be placed on home confinement until his sentencing hearing, which has yet to be determined. A status hearing is scheduled for August 29th at 1:30 p.m.
