Locals In Springfield Not Happy With State Fair Parade Changes

(Springfield, IL)  —  Springfield’s mayor is just one of the locals in Springfield who is not happy about the plan to change the Illinois State Fair Parade.  State officials say this year’s parade will be shorter and cheaper, starting just a few blocks from the fairgrounds in Lincoln Park.  Springfield Mayor Jim Langfelder says he’s “not a fan” of the idea.  The parade has, for years, wound its way through Springfield’s north end to the fairgrounds and brought out a large crowd.
