SALEM — A Centralia man is facing an additional charge after he allegedly threw a cup of water at a Marion County Correctional Officer Friday.

Court reports indicate that 32-year-old Johnathan Hiltibidal was held in an isolation cell at the Marion County Jail Friday morning whenever he reportedly asked for a cup of water. After Hiltibidal refused to return the cup, the officer attempted to retrieve it and then Hiltibidal allegedly threw the water at the officer.

Hiltibidal was being held on a charge of unlawful possession of less than one gram of methamphetamine with bond set at $25,000. The meth was discovered by Centralia Police following a Thursday morning traffic stop.

The new charge of aggravated battery is a felony with bond now set at $40,000. A public defender has been appointed to represent Hiltibidal with a preliminary hearing set for Thursday, July 27.
