(Breese, IL) -The Illinois Department of Transportation announced Wednesday that US 50 westbound over Shoal Creek, 2.5 miles east of Breese, will be intermittently restricted to one lane in each direction beginning July 13, 2017, weather permitting. This work will take place weekdays between the hours of 6:00 AM and 8:00 PM. This closure is necessary to place rock for erosion control beneath the structure. This work is anticipated to be completed by the end of August 2017. Motorists are urged to seek alternate routes, obey all traffic control signage and allow extra time when traveling in the area. The General Contractor on this project is Stutz Excavating Company of Alton, IL.
