(CENTRALIA, IL) — A 50-year-old Centralia man has been arrested by Centralia police for alleged home repair fraud after he reportedly failed to start a roofing project for which he’d received payment. Bail for Daniel Walls was set at $3,000 Monday in Marion County Court after he was formally charged with misdemeanor theft. According to reports, Walls had contracted in early June to do roofing repairs for an elderly Centralia resident but even after receiving a $500 first payment Walls reportedly failed to return and after several phone calls never started the project. He was arrested Sunday and taken to the Marion County Jail.
