Woman Rescued From Lake Of Egypt

(MARION, IL) — Two off-duty Lake of Egypt firefighters rescued a woman around 10:30 Saturday night after she reportedly drove her truck into the lake during a crash. The Lake Egypt Fire Protection District said those firefighters, Captain Matt Blue and Carl Bryant, were wrapping up a day on the lake when they received reports of an automobile accident involving a truck that had entered the water. The firefighters quickly found the woman swimming in the water near the Party Cove Bridge on Power Plant Road and aided her to safety.  The cause of the crash is unknown, and firefighters said there weren’t any serious injuries.
